IAF Joins PAFERN in the Monitoring and Evaluation of DBP-Forest Projects
The UPLB Institute of Agroforestry (UPLB-IAF) takes the lead in the implementation of PAFERN's DBP-funded project entitled "Participatory Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation (PAME) of DBP-Forest Projects". The PAME Project generally aims to find out the current state of project implementation of the 22 DBP-Forest Project Partners all over the country. From August 2008 to date, the project team has evaluated a total of 17 DBP-Forest Projects.
Besides monitoring the progress of project implementation, the PAME project was also conceived to build the technical capabilities of the local DBP Partners. Thus, the DBP Forest Partners, including the local PAFERN member-institutions are actively involved in the project. A Final Exit Conference will be conducted sometime in August 2009 to convene all the 22 DBP-Forest Partners. This will serve as a venue to present the general findings and recommendations of the PAME Team in all the 22 forest project sites, and distill lessons from the project implementation.
